Devices with WiFi are on every other Christmas gift list

Have you already completed your Christmas gift list? Have you mentioned to your friends and family what you want? Probably a smartphone, router or other Wi-Fi enabled device. A recent survey by AVM shows that the trend for connected devices is not slowing down.

Wireless Christmas

The survey results show that one in two people in Germany between the ages of 18 and 69 plan to give or want to receive a WiFi-enabled device this Christmas. Demand for high-performance WiFi systems is even higher among 18-39-year-olds. Smartphones, tablets or smart speakers with wireless features are on the wish list of 64% of respondents. Wireless technology is also important in other age groups. 49 percent of people aged 50-59 in Germany would like a gift that supports WiFi or plan to put it under the tree this year for someone else. WiFi, please People in Italy are even more "pazzo" about wireless technology.

At 67 percent, just over two-thirds of all respondents plan to buy a Wi-Fi enabled device for their loved ones this holiday season, or would like to have one themselves. 44 percent of people in Switzerland would like to receive a WLAN gift this year or plan to give one as a gift. In Austria, the percentage is 43 percent, while in the Netherlands it is 37 percent. The survey was conducted in late November on a panel of 1,000 users in each country.
