NEW: Making calls with FRITZ!Box 6850 5G/LTE via SIM card

With the upgrade to the FRITZ!OS 7.56, for FRITZ!Box 6850 5G and LTE has added a practical feature: making calls via the phone number on the SIM card.
Here's how to do it:
With the upgrade to the FRITZ!OS 7.56, FRITZ!Box 6850 5G or LTE can make calls via SIM card in connected phone. Previously, this was not possible and had to be configured by another Voice Over IP provider. After the update, you can use your SIM card number to make calls using the FRITZ!Fon.
Do you already have a cell phone plan with high data capacity and a flat rate for calls? If you add a MultiSIM card to your tariff plan, you can use the data bandwidth of your FRITZ device!Box and make calls through the associated mobile number with the connected phone. When using a MultiSIM card, both the smartphone and the phone on the FRITZ!Box will ring simultaneously for incoming calls. Alternatively, you can use a cell phone plan exclusively for FRITZ!Box.

FRITZ!Box supports telephony on LTE and 5G networks
A requirement for SIM card telephony is that your plan include Voice over LTE (VoLTE), which is the standard for Internet and data usage. FRITZ!Box 6850 5G is capable of making connections in standalone 5G networks. It also supports Voice over New Radio (VoNR or also known as Vo5G). This means that the end device does not need to switch to the LTE standard to make a phone call. The first operators in Europe have announced that they will soon offer Voice over New Radio on their networks.
Here's how to set up telephony using a SIM card
Open the FRITZ user interface!Box and click on the "Telephony > Custom numbers" menu. From the menu, select "New number" and then " Mobile number". Enter your cell phone number (without country code) in the corresponding field and click "Apply".
...now you can start making calls.
