Safe vacation online

The global network Internet, as a creation of man, inherits from him the advantages and disadvantages of its creator. It is a treasure trove of knowledge, a platform for exchanging information, a medium for rapid communication - a kind of collective nervous system of our civilization and a powerful tool. Like any tool, however, it can be used for the wrong purpose. In order not to become a victim of digital criminals, one should first of all exercise caution and common sense. Secure Internet also means technical protection measures, the whole range of which is implemented in the FRITZ router!Box, through which we connect to the network. Let's take a look at the most important security features.
Safe use of the Internet
The router, as a gateway to a secure Internet, has a number of security features that are collectively called a firewall - a firewall. In the case of FRITZ devices! This box firewall belongs to the "stateful inspection" class and is officially certified by the German TUV institute. This means that the router not only performs basic functions to protect the local network from hacker attacks, such as NAT address translation, but also monitors the activity of individual connections on an ongoing basis and blocks access if irregularities are detected. These functions are factory enabled and configured. The user can additionally enable the firewall's "stealth" operation function, which makes the router invisible to a potential Internet attacker, closes unused TCP/UDP ports and does not respond to attempts to scan them.

Secure remote access
FRITZ Router!Box is also able to protect users from their own risky behavior with access profiles that help determine individual restrictions on Internet use. With their help, you can determine when and how long Internet use is allowed, and whether web filtering or blocking of selected network applications is active.
Router administrator can create and edit list of blocked and allowed websites. Individual network devices, including PCs, laptops, phones, etc., can be assigned in access profiles to individual lists.
Internet traffic can also be controlled on an application/application-by-application basis, blocking or allowing the use of TCP/UDP protocol and port numbers and their ranges. The applications in the list can be assigned individual access profiles, so you can specify which user can use which applications: for example, guests can only access Web pages and emails.
Secure remote access
FRITZ routers!Boxes are unique in the class of home devices also because of their support for VPN virtual private networks using IPSec protocol. Router vpn, i.e. the virtual network server implemented in it allows to establish simultaneously up to 12 secure, encrypted connections of individual computers with the network (remote work), but also between remote networks (e.g. connecting company branches).
